As we close out 2024, we’re looking back on a year filled with incredible acts of kindness, warm hearts, and uplifted communities. At Tower of Niceness, we strive to bring light and hope to people (and pets!) who need it the most. From summer heatwaves to joyous holiday moments, here’s a recap of our five major projects this year—all made possible by the generosity and spirit of our volunteers, donors, and local partners.
Nothing signals the holiday season quite like the sparkle in a child’s eyes. Through our annual Toy Drive, we collected over 1,000 new toys—everything from bikes and stuffed animals to art supplies and board games. These gifts were distributed to children who might not otherwise experience the magic of receiving a special present. Thanks to the kindness of our community, we brought countless smiles to faces young and old and spread cheer that will last well into the new year.

Volunteers wrapped toys, created cards, and included notes of encouragement.
The Thanksgiving season always calls us to share our abundance and gratitude with others. This year marked our 10th annual event dedicated to helping people experiencing homelessness. On the morning of Thanksgiving, we provided hot meals, warm drinks, and care packages. Volunteers of all ages came together to serve, chat, and connect with individuals facing hardship.

Our largest outreach over distributing new clothing to hundreds of people in shelters and on the streets
Handed out 500+ hygiene kits
Celebrated a decade of tradition—ten years of transformative experiences for both volunteers and recipients.
Halloween with Tower of Niceness is always a treat—not just for the costumes but also for the sense of togetherness it brings. We partnered with local shelters and community centers to host a festive costume giveaway for children and adults alike. From superheroes to witches and ghosts, everyone had a chance to play dress-up and share a few laughs.

Delivered 30+ new costumes, candy, and crafts for families in need.
Provided safe trick-or-treating in supportive environments.
This was the year that Tower of Niceness extended our reach to the furriest members of our community. Our Furry Friends Fundraiser shined a spotlight on local animal shelters and pet-focused charities. Volunteers helped organize adoption drives, pet food collections, and free check-ups for companion animals whose families needed assistance.

Provided funds for medical supplies to help foster kittens at Itsie Bitsie Rescue
Donated $1,000 to Placer SPCA’s Guardian Angels Program where special needs animals receive dedicated care and attention before they head off to their new, loving homes
Provided $1,000 towards a life-changing surgery for retired police K9, Finn.
When summer temperatures soared, our Hygiene Kits for the Heat program offered immediate relief and essential supplies to those living on the streets or in temporary shelters. Each kit included water bottles, sunscreen, soap, toothpaste, and more. Volunteers joined forces to assemble the kits and distribute them in areas most impacted by the heat.

As we reflect on 2024, we’re reminded that every donation, every volunteer hour, and every act of kindness creates a positive ripple effect. The Tower of Niceness community proves that when people unite for a good cause, incredible things happen.
