Over 100 Volunteers Participate in the 4th Annual Help the Homeless Project

This year was our largest turnout ever for both volunteers and those that needed our help. We’re learning as we go, but we couldn’t be happier with how things went. Over 100 volunteers jumped in to help from the welcome station to those helping guests to our outreach team bring supplies to those in surrounding areas – they all were amazing.  Special thanks to our coordinators: Ian Tipton, Brandon Miller, Holly Cable, Cyndie French, Cindy Pratt, Paul Stephan and Margaret Campana.

Together with your kind donations, we handed out over 2,300 items including hygiene kits, sleeping bags, backpacks, blankets, shoes, jackets and more. Plus hundreds more clothing items purchased and bought by many of our volunteers. It’s easy to see how great the need is and why we need everyone’s help to bring clothing and supplies.

Our favorite part of the day were the stories of friendships made among volunteers and our guests. Watching so many of our team just spending one on one time with our guests making them feel special and heard. That’s what the day was all about.

Thank you all for supporting this project and helping it become such a success over the years! There’s already discussion of expanding to a 2nd city next year so stay tuned for that. To learn how you can volunteer and support the Tower of Niceness, visit us at https://towerofniceness.org .
